so basically like customer service if there are problems like app wise is it good and not clunky cause i heard revolut app is a bit clunky also if there was a problem times it as taken for wise or revolut to fix the problem like someone scamming your card and getting money back
Never been scammed as I’m not reckless, Revolut customer service is fine, I’ve never had an issue with the app, its usage or functionality.
For a money management POV Revolut is far superior with Pockets you can assign bills to, early payday meaning bacs payments arrive the working day before it’s due, salary sorter so when it arrives it moves all the money where you want it such as Pockets, Savings etc (you have to set that up). Group Pockets too if your friends have Revolut. They have bill splits with Revolut usernames and external customers.
I’ve used Revolut on off for 6 years and never been banned, frozen, reviewed or anything else. The AI chat bot is very efficient, unlike Monzos AI chat bot.
Wise offers the main account and Jars (Savings), no automation, no bills Jars, they don’t even have vibration on notifications when you send, spend or receive money. The app is nice. I was scrolling through it today, but it just lacks so much in comparison to the others (Revolut, Chase, Starling and Monzo). Can’t comment on their customer service as I’ve never used it. Wise has bill splits but I’ve never used it.
Loading the wise app is awful.
And you can’t ditch this from the home page:
While neither offer FSCS protection on their main accounts, Revolut savings accounts do come with FSCS so your money is protected up to £120k like all banks in the UK.
Otherwise, your money is safeguarded:
To explain in more detail: once an e-money institution receives your money, it must either place it in a dedicated “safeguarding account” with a bank, or invest it in low risk assets that have been approved by the regulator as an alternative to cash. Sometimes, less commonly, it may protect the money with an insurance policy instead. Your money must stay in these accounts or investments until you spend it.
The protection this provides means that if an e-money institution fails, there should be a pot of money (the safeguarding account) sufficient to pay all customers the money they are owed.
These safeguarding accounts are protected by law from other creditors of a failed e-money institution making a claim against them. The only thing that can be paid from these safeguarding accounts, before the customers are paid back their e-money, is the cost of the receiver (the person who’s appointed to manage the closure of a failed company).
Wouldn’t personally put any money near unguarded non FSCS protected institutions like Revolut or Wise, especially when there as so many good FSCS protected institutions that will protect your money regardless. Revolut protects savings but unless you’re planning on keeping all your money in savings you’re taking one hell of a risk imo.
If Revolut ran into issues, any funds not in savings would NOT be protected and you could be left waiting a long time to see your money if at all
Revolut has metal cards. Case closed!
That whole block read like AI GUFF ![]()
It was me typing
is a bit factual.
Wise have FSCS protection if you use the interest option, which you can do on current accounts and savings jars.
So the same as Revolut. Savings are FSCS protected (because it’s held in other FSCS protected banks) but not when actually in a Revolut current account
So it does, I had a small thought it did when I opened it but it wasn’t very easy to find.
They need to update this screen though.
Wise assets (Investments) not to be confused with Wise Payments Ltd (Sending Money and holding money in a Wise account) which is an e-money institution not covered by FSCS
App UI: Revolut is better. I’ve barely used it but Rev deffo has better app. I hate Wise app, it’s clunky, full of modules I can’t rearrange or dismiss, unintuitive and designed mainly for crossborder money transfer and is still good for that major focus. The app makes everything unappealing for me to even try new features like pots.
Customer support: Like any e-money institution, you have to get through chatbot before you can get to a human Customer Support. Wise offers far fewer services compared to Revolut, so there’s less to support customers for. I’ve never had to contact their customer support, and I’ve heard they aren’t exactly fast. Rev has their own fair share of horror stories, you can check our r/Revolut. ![]()
Scam protection: If you want true peace of mind, keep your money where there’s full FSCS protection. The difference in exchange rates is so marginal it’s barely worth the stress of enjoying your holiday less. Why constantly convert currencies to find out how much things are when many fully licensed banks have fee free foreign spending nowadays?
Which they notoriously get stuck in ATMs.
(Had one and had to get back to the normal one).
I’ve not had any of mine get stuck in machines.
I use Wise as I can put £X in Euros, etc and it keeps me to a budget. For ad-hoc spending, I’d use my Monzo card as there’s no transaction fee for conversionas there is with Wise & Revolut.
I noticed main Revolut chat is offline today on this Forum ![]()

Did I miss something?
Wise has ACC & IBAN numbers clearly displayed for a long time, and Revolut shows from today (no app update was required for me) ![]()
I didn’t see anything but I’d guess whoever created it, deleted their profile so the thread goes too.
Doesn’t show anything on iOS yet, latest TestFlight.
sooo much info & many printscreens were there ![]()
