Wiki: Current Account Switching Incentives 💸

Thanks… I was given 03456049956 as the number via live chat

I did look at my old notebook for it, but I seem to have destroyed LBG related gubbins
I think that is right

Did the Lloyds offer, I’ve moved since I last did it 12 months ago and I used a different email. Just received the £175 today so worth a shot

I’m not seeing anything in T&CS to suggest that the deposit has to be done after the switch.

It’s just when both criteria are met, so if your old Bank had £1250 then you meet both criteria when it transfers over.

The key thing to note is 24hrs which doesn’t normally get specified.

So it’s transfer in > wait a day > transfer out > transfer in > wait a day and repeat to make £1250

For a payment to be counted towards the £1,250, the funds must remain in the account for a period of 24 hours.

I got through to Lloyds after about 10 mins on hold using that number and the helpful person on the other end has re-activated the switching request. Hopefully it works this time - I’ve closed the Chase savings account and removed the 10p cashback that was sitting in the Rewards part of the account (plus I now have four active direct debits). Hope this is helpful if anyone else comes up against this issue.

Nice. How long did yours take?

15th applied for the account, 23rd was the switch, so 4 days from the criteria met

Did you pay in the £1,250 on the 23rd the day your switch finished?

The balance transferred in from the switch was above £1,250 so both criteria met on the same day.

Ah my switch is from an empty account. I’ll just send it over the day after my switch ends and leave it in until I get my bribe lol.

If the account is open then there’s no reason to wait until the switch to complete to make the transfer, unless you have DDs to take in the old bank it’s switching from and need the money to debit from.

Day one of the account opening you could transfer in money and wait 24hrs to tick off that criteria if you wanted. After 24hrs you could take it out to wherever it’s kept and then wait for the switch to happen.

Ah I was under the impression I had to do it after my switch ended for some reason.

My thinking was that I had to deposit £1250 the day after the switch date.

When I did them all, I did it before.

Open account and do it right away, get that part of it ticked off.

Got my bribe yesterday. I also transferred in the money the moment the account got opened, way before the switch was confirmed so I don’t think it matters when you do it.

Also I had incorrectly previously said you can’t transfer the money without the card reader. I was incorrect, you do not need the card reader to back out the money.

I’ve seen someone who got Natwest last year, get RBS this year. Anyone got it who did the same bank last year?

Really impressed with NatWest, got the £200 within 24 hours of depositing £1250. Must be a record, or at least up there.

Yep, received mine this morning too, one of the smoother switches I’ve had.

My Lloyds switch happened overnight. No payout yet though
