Wiki: Current Account Switching Incentives šŸ’ø

You only moved recently didnā€™t you?

Has the electoral register been updated to reflect that yet?

Some councils are dreadfully slow to do it, and it can take up to several months sometimes for your new address to be reflected on your credit report.

I applied for a NW account, but canā€™t obviously log in yet. But I got an email notification to say thereā€™s a document available in my online mailbox. How on earth do I access that without any credentialsā€¦

I moved December but had to register the address with Royal Mail etc then the council then electoral being a new build.

Pain in the :peach: still waiting for my council tax band.

Iā€™d guess it is electoral though because Iā€™ve seen other accounts with same address format etc so maybe thatā€™s their reliable go to.

Might be worth checking your credit file with one or two of the agencies.

Both to see if itā€™s on there, and how theyā€™ve formatted it, and if itā€™s linked with any prior addresses as well as variations in the format.

Once it shows up on there, youā€™ll generally find you can start applying for finance products again without being rejected.

ClearScore has all my accounts showing as previous address

But Credit Karma mostly my new address, same layout offered to NatWest.

Canā€™t check Experian as Mse no longer uses them I believe.

Iā€™ll give it another month, thereā€™s a few account closures (by paying off) due to happen too which could change the setting too.

Had the same experience, waited for the account to be activated which was the next day.

Once that happens you can then use the register for online banking link using the account/sort you have. That then reveals the customer number and sets up PIN, password.

Then with those bits you can access via the app, set the passcode and biometric.

MSE was ace at providing that service.

I use the Experian app now just to find the score.

Itā€™s annoyingly a big advert to try to get you to pay to see information about yourself.

There is a button inside to order your free statutory report if needed.

MSE is still coming up as Experian for me.

I got away with it last time. Might try again

My last bribe from NatWest was 2018 so Iā€™m in on this one.

Is that new? So I could switch my unused FD account into the C&Co account Iā€™m in the process of opening, pay in the Ā£1,250 then get my free Ā£200.

No. C&C is RBS, not NatWest.

I donā€™t see why not. I was thinking of doing something similar then remembered that I got Ā£175 switching bonus when I opened my Child &Co account in 2022.

Yeah look at the post directly above mine. Itā€™s NatWest and RBS.

RBS and NatWest are both running the same offer.

Ulster too but a worse experience onboarding than the two other sisters.

Itā€™s a shame they stopped the multiple claims, another Ā£400 would have been nice to grab.

Iā€™d missed that. Iā€™ll add the Ts&Cs above too. Iā€™ve found some of them difficult to find after the offer ends (especially NatWest Group actually) so good to have a record here.

Just a thought but if you hadnā€™t previously received a bonus before the cut-off date and applied for the three simultaneously, would you get away with getting all three?

I did all three the previous time, in succession though, not simultaneously.
