Whisky recommendations šŸ„ƒ

Ā£10 and Iā€™ll take it

That doesnā€™t include shipping, which is Ā£100  Deal!

Good choice! I have one of each of the four expressions that make their Legacy Series, although Iā€™ve never opened any of them as it was just a cheap way to say I have a limited edition Whisky collection. However, I think itā€™s really only the first expression that was genuinely in limited supply as you can still buy the other three.

Just logged in and seen all these replies - thank you so much. Who knew there were so many Whisky experts! Iā€™ll check them all out. I donā€™t think anyone has said the same one twice, so that makes it all the more difficult. From memory, the recipient doesnā€™t mind it a little peaty, but I think he prefers one thatā€™s more balancedā€¦

After reading up on Torabhaig I have decided to do the same! Just bought one of each of the four legacy series bottles (the first was indeed significantly more expensive than the other threeā€¦ :joy: ) This has taken all of my birthday money, so once I have a bit more spare cash Iā€™ll buy a second bottle of the Cnoc Na MĆ²ine to open and enjoy.

If you need to narrow it down, look at things like number of years youā€™ve known them, their age, or locations they love or youā€™ve been. Or if there are other spirits (eg gin) they like - and then see if thereā€™s any linked distilleries etc too.

Or pick something local to you, or novelty based too with how itā€™s been made.

Honestly, Iā€™m sure unless you go for something particulary Peaty (Laphroaig/Islay) or Sweet (Speyside) I think itā€™ll be fine. There are a load out there. My family know I like Whisky and donā€™t all know the type, so if I end up with a bottle of Jura, itā€™s nice enough for me.

Its the thought that counts.

Bottles 2,3, and 4 of the Torabhaig legacy series are being delivered today (bottle 1 will take longer as it is coming from Germany) - I will find it very difficult not opening them to try, but that would defeat the whole purpose of buying the full setā€¦
I need to find someone else who has them so I can at least say Iā€™ve tasted each! (Maybe a distillery tour?)

In case anyone interested, I did look through all these recommendations, thank you. In the end, I still didnā€™t really know what to go for (what a minefieldā€¦), so went with one of the first recommendations, from @l33t and got the Highland Park 18. The recipient was very pleased.

It is pretty epic tbh.

Dalmore 12 is fantastic, dont sleep on that.

And Hibiki is nectar. Donā€™t miss that either.
