What's the Last Bit of Tech You Bought?

This arrived yesterday evening (same-day from Amazon) and it’s exactly what I needed, it’s smaller than I expected but it’s sturdy enough with my 15" MBA horizontally.

Bad quality picture with loads of glare and bad lighting:

I’m enjoying a 1 cable setup, I say one cable, it’s one cable from MBA to monitor then of course the monitor is plugged into power as well.

One of my lecturers has one of them!

He loves it but says that seeing the delays just gets him annoyed

God I feel dull but I’m about to go through my entire wardrobe and do this on all my hoodies, it has the same satisfaction as jet washing something :joy:

I have one of those fluff removers.

I don’t use it anymore, cba.

I got it mainly for my work hoodies, just so I can still look presentable - I’m sure it will only last a week before I put it in the cupboard and forget

Think I need a smaller ThinkPad. My X1 Carbon is not small enough!!!

You best get your Mastercard out then

How many ThinkPads do you have? I’m intrigued

Why would I specifically need a Mastercard?

My main card is a Visa. Bank Of Scotland Visa

6 in the collection now.

2 I use daily and carry around with me.

1 lives on my desk as it has the best keyboard and i use it for typing long documents

other 3 are in my desk draw as they are older models but do take them out sometimes to play with or use if i have something needed for older OS’s like Windows 98 or XP

Sounds good. There are worse things to collect :slightly_smiling_face:

I have always liked the keyboards on them.

That’s one of the many reasons I love them.

I keep a T420 on my desk and that has got the best keyboard on a ThinkPad ever in my opinion.

I have sat and typed countless documents on it and never got tired of using it.

Very True! I love all tech from Lenovo. (Unless its the ThinkTab :face_vomiting:)

What’s the reason for carrying around 2? Will it not be easier to use the same one for both reasons? I’m genuinely curious

One is my X1 Carbon which i use for my classes and most things. Runs Windows 10 Enterprise

The other one is a X220 which is a smaller Thinkpad and runs Arch Linux which I use as my Linux machine and for experimenting with things.

I made my first technical purchase in the UK today.

I managed to get a 27" iMac 27 from 2011 for £50. It’s currently acting as my TV. Was great to get such a good deal on my first day.

Glad you’re proud of it and enjoy your purchase

Thanks!

It’s running quite an old version of MacOS so i’ve put Windows 10 on it for now and seems to be working great. The 1440p screen looks weirdly good for its age. Been watching Squid Game S2 again and looks great.

I feel like S2 is underrated. I found it pretty great.

Apple have always had decent screens in my opinion.

£50 is a great deal either way for yourself

I watched S2 when it first came out and loved it almost as much as the S1 to be honest.

I was surprised to find myself the iMac, it was my first time looking on Facebook Marketplace in my new city and was only down the street so couldn’t pass the deal.

Where’d you grab it from? CeX? It’s a decent price either way.

No Facebook Marketplace.
