What's the last bit of tech you bought?

Not bought it yet but it’s in my basket is this air purifier from Shark. My cat Loki has a lot of fur and he wants to share it all with me.

Does anyone currently use one?

I also bought this on a whim recently as I wanted to test out turning my office into a mini cinema. It was good for proof of concept but it also matched the price in regards to quality.

Yes, I have two of those Shark Air Purifiers (HP300UK). One in the lounge and one in my bedroom. Utter junk.

Both of them constantly report that air quality is at 100% and they rarely go above idle speed.

My previous BlueAir 3410s with air quality sensor were always detecting poor air quality and kicking in at high speeds. You could fart in the next room and 10 seconds later the BlueAir would be going at maximum speed. The Shark does nothing…

Unfortunately, I realised this after the returns period and have essentially wasted £560. Not happy.

How are you finding that projector?

My brother really wants a good cheap portable projector so that might be a good shout for him.

Can’t comment on the shark but I’ve got some Dyson purifiers. It helps with the dander, but not the fur, which remains everywhere all the time (husky in my case; cats are all DSH).

If you have a fast 4K screen it really isn’t hard to hit the limits of a 4090 though

Would these work ok with a dehumidifier running nearly 24/7? Not sure what it would do to the air quality. Make it super clean? :joy:

Yeah mines the opposite side of the room to the dehumidifier

I don’t expect it to be any good, but hopefully the Plex app is better than the webos one

I also bought some VR lenses to match my prescription in the hope it makes me wear my headset more

8K  Do we recon this is legit aha

I wouldn’t recommend it as such - I’d suggest spending a little bit more for built in casting options for Netflix, Disney etc

I’ve had a look at the Anker Nebula options and they seem pretty cool

No, I doubt even the 4K will be legit at this price

I was gonna spring for an nvidia shield pro, but I’ll try this first

Yeah I got 1 of the Shield TVs. They aren’t bad TBH. But most of the TVs have Apple TVs so the partner ain’t to happy lol

A dehumidifier will be fine. A humidifier on the other hand will play havoc with the particle sensor on an air purifier.

I can’t sleep so have ordered a ScanWatch 2 to go with my Pixel 9 Pro XL.

All arriving Saturday if things go well. Hopefully they won’t all be going back on Monday

My wife had a Withings watch about 5 years ago and I always liked how it looked like a normal watch.

Buyers remorse will crop in by about 7pm on Monday.

I’m personally surprised you jumped given your views on AI. Google aren’t approaching it responsibly. What they’ve put on those phones is reckless and dangerous compared to what we’ve experienced from most others in the industry so far. More so than Musk, even.
