I bought an Apple Pencil and some smart home sensors/switches yesterday.
Bought the Magic Keyboard for my iPad
What switches did you get ?
Do gaming chairs count as “tech”?
I’ve just bought a darknight edition secretlab chair…

I’ve given the Aqara range a test out. I bought the hub, switches and a couple of sensors. Seems to be good from the reviews I’ve seen and most importantly integrates with HomeKit.
I just have to wait for it to arrive from China now
I have a Savings Pot set aside to buy a Switch as soon as scalper bots give me a chance
Keep an eye on game, friend of mine ordered one two Thursdays when they restocked.
Checking out their website, some good looking stuff
Nvidia TV Shield Pro 2017 to replace the Fire TV. Want another for upstairs but they’re like unicorn tears at the moment.
Where did you order them from? I couldn’t see any UK stores for them last time I looked!
Never really liked things that need a bridge, but it does look to have some good things as part of the kit.
Does it support IFTTT?
Sadly it’s a necessary evil a lot of the time. I have a bridge for Hue, IKEA, Tado and soon to be Aqara
Looks like it is possible - https://community.aqara.com/posts/223
I use HomeKit automations for most of the things I want to do.
Yeah I know
I’m still (so far) trying to avoid it.
I recently bought smart light switches for the entire house and I already have a Nest thermostat and smoke alarm. They all play nicely through IFTTT.
A house alarm with cameras/sensors will probably be next and the Aqara range looks good. I like the leak sensors especially since I have a couple of large fish tanks.
I got rid of my Amazon Alexa and got 2 x Sonos speakers instead. Alexa started off fine and just used for music but over time became unreliable, stopped working, lousy voice assistant just an all round frustrating experience.
I’m hoping Sonos is a different kind of experience.
I have them hidden with my router/switch, so really it’s only the cost of them that’s the hassle and it usually works out cheaper, but it definitely don’t want anymore!
I went with Tado over Nest as I wanted HomeKit intergration, which I know you can get now. Typical!
I’m going to add a contact sensor to the side gate, simple thing but will save me going to look to see if it’s been left open, and will give me a nudge if anyone opens it during the night! Which will then trigger a light.
Gate sensor is a great idea! Our side gate often gets left open and then I’m awoken in the night by it banging in the wind.
The one thing I love about Nest is that it knows when nobody is in the house. So I can use the house empty trigger on IFTTT to do all sorts. Like making sure all the lights are off, the house alarm automatically gets set, it doesn’t heat an empty home and so on…
I do this with HomeKit for all sorts. Although Tado does it too for the heating.
Everything off when there’s nobody here, lights on when we come home etc.
I want ALL the feedback on this chair please.
I’ve had my eye on one for a while but I don’t know anyone who’s bought one and I’m cautious on spraying that much cash on a chair based almost entirely on the fact the Lannister GoT one would match my decor so nicely!

This set is in the UK, but I couldn’t be sure if that was the Homekit version or not, so gave it a miss.
Why did you have to say that? Thought I’d see if there was a House Stark one and now I really want it
