Working my way through the a Craig Bond marathon on Prime.

Probably an unpopular opinion, but QoS works much better as the second half of a two parter with Casino Royale.

Can’t think of many other immediate sequels: only Back to Future 2 and the latest Spider-Man spring to mind.

Pirates of the Caribbean at worlds end! The best of the original trilogy in my view. The second and third films are essentially a two part act of the same narrative. Not like the others that are almost entirely self contained.

Can’t get much more immediate than A Quiet Place II.

Haven’t seen either of them, but they’re on my list.

So so good! First better than the second, which is typical on most sequels.

It’s a shame that not many sequels live up to their heritage. But when they do…

Aliens - jaw-dropping sequel.
Terminator 2 - jaw-fell-off sequel.

Avatar ‘2’ - when? :soon:

I should qualify what I mean by immediate: literally set immediately after the first film.

T2 is in the upper pantheon of sequels but definitely not a direct follow on.

Saw Dr Strange ITMOM last night.

Think it’s the first movie I’ve seen that’s filmed entirely in IMAX. Makes a nice change to the aspect ratio constantly switching and it’s incredibly immersive when you can barely keep the whole picture in focus.

Movie itself was entertaining. Not top tier marvel but plenty to enjoy. I’m so glad I don’t watch trailers as I’m pretty sure most of the best surprises were spoiled already.

I thought it was alright too. Some pretty big plot holes all around and I think they’ve made an utter mess of the ‘multiverse’ concept frankly but at least it was action packed.

Thor trailer dropped and looks pretty sweet :ok_hand:

I really enjoyed everything, everywhere, all at once. Super fun movie bringing back slapstick and a great multiverse concept (much better than other recent films featuring multiverse concepts).

That said, I did see two people walk out so I guess it’s divisive?

People also walked out of my screening, and my partner nearly did too, so definitely divisive!

I don’t think I’ve ever walked out during a film, some I wish I had though!

The only film we walked out of was Locke. I think we walked out after a a relatively extended piece of dialogue explaining different grades of cement. That was several years ago though
