Android beta. Monzo 2.60.
It’s only on iOS at the moment. Android soon.
Summary hasn’t changed and is still 1 tap access by tapping left to spend or the pie chart icon.
@bruno thoughts?
What is it?
The ability to pull the draw all the way down to access the accounts screen.
Bruno gave a mini demo of it in a post above.
So basically the same as pulling the card down?
I never had access to that but I think so yes. Has new animation to go with it.
I guess it’s easier one-handed
Pulling the card down to access the Accounts screen has been in Android beta for a while (apart from v2.59.1 when it briefly disappeared)
It’s not pulling the feed draw all the way down, just the in-focus card. And it’s a nice touch too.
I have asked for this before but it always gets shot down by someone. Last time I posted about it I said…
and…
Currently, that’s true.
However, it would be useful if tapping the home button when you’re viewing a pot, took you straight back to your current account feed.
iOS 2.60.0 Feedback
-
Couldn’t find the new Accounts screen gesture until reading about it on here.
-
Accounts screen gesture seems laggy because the screen zooms out, then goes back to normal before moving to the Accounts screen - it would be better if the screen didn’t go back to normal and went straight to the Accounts screen.
-
Really not a fan of my phone buzzing every time I use the new Accounts screen gesture.
After testing this, the requested behaviour you describe exists on Android 2.60.0. Example;
You have a personal account with 1 pot.
Scroll to the pot using the carousel.
Tap on ‘Home’ - the carousel ‘revolves’ back to your Personal Account card
If you’re on iOS and this doesn’t happen, there may be a parity issue here.
The “tap Home to change accounts” feature has been built for iOS yet, but it’s good to hear that the functionality I described will be present when it is.
Anyone else finding Monzo’s feature parity more and more frustrating. It’s like selling a bike with only the back wheel in one store but then only the front wheel in another store.
This isn’t me feeling hard done by in the slightest, but I feel there should be an a android thread and iOS thread if devs are to do this. I personally feel your dev team should be singing from the same hymn sheet and not be playing catch up with each other — which is what it feels like at the moment.
Why not A/B test the same stuff across both platforms simultaneously?
This whole thing is in labs, so I don’t see the issue.
I would agree with you if, for example, iOS users were being offered mortgages and Android users weren’t, but when we’ve (mostly) opted in to test new beta designs, it seems reasonable to expect some differences between platofrms.
I suppose that is true in some respects
I really feel like being able to swipe sideways on the transaction listing to scroll through different accounts would be really helpful.
It would provide a way to quickly navigate between accounts without having to go through all your pots.
I think my other main suggestions to improve the new design have already been brought up quite a lot. E.g. swapping help and summary, the disjointed feeling between the standard view and the accounts view (where the accounts view is a far more intuitive way of seeing where your money is). Also regarding the the 3 different levels the transaction drawer can be opened to, it doesn’t feel like a smooth user experience.
