The apple music transition works because the tracklist is the ‘home’ and the playback controls that float above it are secondary. This metaphor doesn’t really translate to Monzo where both the account list and the horizontal slider seem to be competing for priority.
Well I had it active for a week and I’ve had to go back. This is because even if I do the switch to joint account button, I still have to swipe through ALL of my pots to find my joint account transactions. This is a deal breaker for me. Otherwise, I liked it.
The new animation when you pull down on the draw to access all accounts needs more work IMO.
It seems like two seperate animations stitched together and doesn’t flow.
The first is the partial zoom out, then after that animation the one when you press your display photo takes over.
Just seems disjointed
Love the pots and game choices some exciting times ahead
also the layout looks very nice with the quality of images you used.
Can’t you just press Home again?
Any chance for a dark mode? The light is blinding when looking at night
But if you have to use it day to day it’s going to be very annoying
No that doesn’t work
To clarify
Android only: Tapping Home button to switch accounts
iOS only: pull drawer down to access account list
No dark mode coming soon
On iOS, I use Classic Invert Colours accessibility setting and use the Accessibility Shortcut to turn it on with triple tap of home button to stop lighting up the bedroom when checking Monzo or Monzo Community in the early hours
So what was the “great” new gesture?
Is it pull the drawer down to access the vertical menu? Unless that’s been there a while and I just didn’t do it
Soo some more feedback…
Love the new Mac (iOS) but I think there are some ways the nav bar could be improved.
Home - Summary - payments.
The help bar could move up to where the pie chart icon is now, since left to spend can now be clicked on.
Doesn’t seem much logic putting the help there and having the summary tucked away.
Mine doesn’t do that.
What OS are you on? iOS test flight?
This is a good idea.
If you’re only a Personal user (no connected credit cards) - then the Home ‘tap’ theoretically can’t switch to anything else?
Summary is a deal breaker for me and the reason I love Monzo! I find the new version fiddly and awkward… Will definitely be turning this off in Monzo labs
