Using Monzo on Planes

It is quite amusing that there’s all these problems with TUI, yet there’s this in the app.

I know that’s online, not onboard, but still…

Ah, you mean for Mastercard themselves rather than another business using their services?

I only skimmed and saw this part.

Yeah; most US corporates have these ethics hotlines post-Enron but they are to prevent corporate scandal more than anything. I mean someone could still try it but I suspect they won’t get far.

Booking Australian holiday and I see that several of the car hire places won’t accept any neobank (online only bank) at all. I’d have thought that a fair number of Brits have come unstuck with their car hire before now.

You should really be booking a car hire on a credit card anyway.

I know, but many people don’t seem to.

Website updates and Monzo now accepted on flights

I was on my TUI flight yesterday to Florida, they said “they now accept the popular Monzo” :joy:

So they accept MasterCard and Monzo

Yeah it’s odd they still list it separately, does it function any differently to them from a normal Debit MasterCard?

Clever. This means that every time you buy something with Monzo you pay twice.

Ok, no one ruin it this time……

As an aside, in the 8-9 times I’ve flown with TUI over the last few years neither HSBC nor Lloyds have ever given me this issue*

*yes I know it’s not really a Monzo thing, they should’ve accepted it from day one.

Presumably they still won’t accept Revolut?

In Greece currently and travelled via TUI. When onboard they now announce that they accept Visa, MasterCard……but no pre-paid cards.

They do not mention that they don’t accept Monzo

Flew to turkey last year monzo card was accepted on the plane (sunexpress) this year it was not accepted

In what way was it unaccepted?

I used Monzo on a few SAS flights last week via Google Pay, worked fine without any issues.
