Unable to create an account being under 18 years old

I am 17 years old (20/07/2003), I have already downloaded the Monzo app and when I typed my birth date, it didn’t allow me to continue the procedure. Please guide me on how to proceed and create my bank account, as I have read at your site I am eligible to have my own bank account with Monzo, even though I am 17 years old.

There appears to be an issue although Monzo couldn’t reproduce.

16-17 year old account

Hi - my son turned 16 today and has been patiently waiting to be able to open a Monzo account. When he tries to sign in on the app, when he enters his date of birth it won’t let him proceed to the next screen (the next button is greyed out) If he enters a date of birth that would mean him being 18 then he can proceed to the next screen, but obviously he can’t provide a false date of birth. Are you trying to open it on an iOS phone? There seems to be a bug at the moment

Looks like they’ve just updated the app with a hotfix for this. (3.63.1)
