Trading 212 (T212)

Yeah this.

I’d love to move my current SIPP from vanguard. But the fact I can’t yet buy an annuity, drawdown or total lump sum from them (even though I’m miles from retirement) means it’s a bit of a drawback.

That’s what I like about AJ Bell: they have it all.

I’ll probably switch to AJ Bell when I’ve built up my money but using T212 means I avoid any platform fees and for now, means more of the money I put in, goes towards my investments and cash ISA

Anyone transferred a NEST or Vanguard pension over to Trading212? How was it?

Nope, but I transferred from AJ Bell and it was sub-optimal…

Requested a partial transfer as I need to keep AJ Bell open for employer contributions, and AJ Bell nearly closed my whole sipp anyway.

Anyone having app login issues to T212.

Occasionally I am asked to re log in, rather than just using my thumb print. Yesterday was one of those days but it said my credentials were invalid. Reset my password. Credentials still invalid… Could login on web browser but still not app, using the same password.

Nope the T212 app has always been solid for me. One of the few to not have issues :smiling_face_with_tear:

Same here, always found trading 212 fine to use and login.

How does 212 compare with Monzo - overall cost wise that is, rather than the product itself. I’m looking at diversifying as I find Monzo (Blackrock) ETFs to be quite limited and they companies repeat in each theme - great if one goes up they all go up but not great if one goes down…!

Just at a super high level, Monzo has a 0.25% platform fee whereas T212 is zero.

Once you get into the product, I’m really not sure why you’d choose Monzo?

Because people don’t want to get into the product and just want everything to stay in one place, as I’ve been told many times.

Everyone accepting a bad product is just scamming themselves IMO lol

Exactly.

If you don’t look after your own money, no one else will.

It isn’t particularly complicated to open a T212 account and stick everything in VWRP/VAL/whatever.

The convenience of keeping everything in one place is literally how legacy banks have made a killing for decades.

Hmm and no other fees? I guess there will be some conversion at some point depending on the investment. Also management fees? I’ll need to do some digging to find out if the management fees are on par or less than Monzo.

Looks like T212 offers more than Monzo at 3.80% AER uninvested cash! I appreciate there are possible tax implications (particularly with the impending lower threshold) but this looks pretty good.

Trying to find the catch.

There is no catch. There are no management fees from T212 as you are managing the portfolio yourself by choosing your own individual stocks or ETFs.

The only fees you really need to be aware of are the fund fees, and FX fees if you’re buying US stocks for example. But there are GBP version of most of the main ETFs, which obviously negates the need to convert into USD.

The Vanguard VWRP ETF for example has a fund fee of 0.14%, but that’s not being charged by T212, that’s what Vanguard charge in the background for managing the ETF and you’d be paying that whatever platform you held the same ETF on.

As long as you steer clear of that, you should be fine
