Looks like I’ve already gotten my IBAN on my business account. Hope to see it on my Personal Account very soon ![]()
The IBAN appears on the personal account statement too, and it was also displayed on the ‘lite’ app when Monzo had that outage the other week.
I wouldn’t trust it works yet though on the business account, like on the personal account until such point Monzo have said it’s live
I was speaking with someone at Monzo and apparently thats a temporary IBAN that should work to send money to your account but id just wait until it’s officially in the details section of your account.

Just gave the new IBANs a test, worked perfectly sending money to and from. Will put some money into my savings pot now in Monzo rather than Revolut as Monzo offers better rates
Any idea when Irish customers will be like Uk customers I presume and other digital banks that payees will Automatically show up via your contacts on your mobile phone ? Am trying to get other people to sign up but it would help if knew when other services will be launched ?
I can confirm that this feature is now working. I can see other payees on the app who are already in my contacts list.
The one other person I know who Monzo in Ireland shows up via his phone number for me
Have got somebody on waiting list via a referral so i should see something eventually.
The other person also needs to allow this via settings and privacy, but given there aren’t that many customers yet you might likely just not have any friends on Monzo.
Yeah just saw this I presume that’s on by default though ?

If you don’t see any contacts, it’s because they’re not signed up to Monzo, or using the number you have for them as their contact number.
As others have mentioned, you should be able to see a friend appear on the payments tab if all the following are true:
- They have enabled profile privacy by phone number
- You have their phone number in your address book
- You both have Monzo accounts in the same country
- You have given the Monzo app full access to your address book
Note: If on iOS it’s quite easy to give the app just “limited access” to address book which may stop this from working.
If it’s still not working and you’ve checked all of these steps feel free to contact customer support in app and we’ll see if we can figure out what’s happening.
