Travelling in France early this month. Tried to pay for petrol at an unmarked kiosk and was declined. Thinking not put pin in so tried again. Declined. No fuel. Then the app on my phone buzzed. Opened the app and found DAC la Clerc had taken €150 twice! Raised this with Super market got a shrug and told it will come back in 3 or 4 days. 15 day’s later nothing. Monzo no help?
The funds are held, as a temp authorisation not a payment, provided you have a receipt to confirm these payments were declined monzo might be able to release the hold.
Otherwise, it’ll revert usually over night but can take 7-30 days.
They should say pending at the bottom of the transaction screen.

Just to add, I’ve never had any problems with Leclerc petrol payments resolving properly so you should be fine.
