"The Matrix 4" announced - Keanu Reeves to return as Neo!

I’ve just sat down to start watching it now. It’s a perfect HD copy an all, having looked about it came out on HBO Max over the pond in the last few days. Looks like that’s the source of this version.

So far 15 minutes in, it’s good :eyes: the next 2 hours look like it’s going to be epic.

All day long :joy:

Is a good film, was a few meh moments, mainly around the remembering the past. I’ll be giving it another watch probably tomorrow though, to see if I missed anything.

I watched it at the Cinema on Wednesday and thought it was pretty good.

Maybe I had low expectations of it because of all the negative reviews and stories about it so far, but I was definitely pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it.

I’d say it’s better then 2+3, but not quite as good as the first one- but part of the reason why the first one was such a stand out was because it had some pretty unique and original concepts in it. So, any sequel using those again is never going to be as amazing as the original.

I did lose track slightly towards the end over which person was doing which. Without spoiling it - who was directing the big chase scene (I’m sure no-one will be shocked to know there’s a big chase scene in the film

I also thought Jonathan Groff did a good job with the ‘physicality’ of his character (if you’ve seen the trailers, you know who that is).

The downside, I would’ve liked this to be a self contained story with a definite end just like the first Matrix film - it was left very open ended and based on the box office so far, there’s probably not going to be a sequel…

I honestly just thought it was bad. Maybe not terrible, but maybe a 4/10. I found it hard to be entertained and the extent of the callbacks and self-references made me feel like this film was out of ideas. I found the plot pretty confused and overly complex. The action sequences, I felt like they hadn’t learned many new tricks since the first film.

Then again I’ve not been a fan of any of the Wachowski sister’s work since the first Matrix really, even Sense8, so I wasn’t expecting I’d enjoy it a lot.

Wash your mouth out :joy::rofl: I loved that, ended too soon.

Yeah the flashback stuff I was just like erm ok then. I’m still not sold on if I really liked it or not, I’m on the fence. Another viewing later will make my mind up for sure.

I wasn’t impressed.

Definitely not worth paying for in the cinema. It wasn’t even especially impressive visually.

I’d rank it below Reloaded. There’s nothing to compare to the motorway scene, but it’s not as awful as Revolutions.

The original is so far above all of them, it’s beyond compare.
