The Great Holiday Topic 🏖️

I stayed at the Radisson Blu Plaza, two nights at 3,411 NOK (£240). Used a hack to get immediate top tier Radisson membership and was upgraded to suites, provided breakfast and free drinks for a happy hour so all in all did well.

What’s this hack? :eyes:

It was a link that was public but not really advertised. All you needed to do was log in and apply the code and it gave you VIP for two years.

It’s similar to this:

No idea if the link still works but it’s a legit promotion they just had a public link.

If you have Amex Platinum you can do this:

Meatballs for the people!

Interesting, thanks! I’ll have to do this. Shame that I have already booked a bunch of Hiltons for basically every stay I am planning for the year…

Soooooo I need to beat this depression somehow and thinking maybe plenty of short city breaks abroad through the year.

Liverpool > Szczecin (Poland) £34 return

Hostel/hotel around £60 for two nights.

So ~£100 + food for a weekend away.

Anyone ever been? What about other recommendations, ideally from Liverpool as it’s my closest airport.

Here’s a list of places that you can fly to from Liverpool :stuck_out_tongue:

Take your pick……

https://www.flightsfrom.com/LPL

I want recommendations, not blind picks

From that list, I can recommend:

  • Tenerife
  • Lanzarote
  • Amsterdam
  • Malaga
  • Jersey
  • Faro
  • Prague
  • Madrid
  • Reykjavik
  • Berlin
  • Menorca
  • Majorca

What sort of holiday do you want us to pick for you? :stuck_out_tongue: Warm/Cold? Short flight? Long Flight?

Can recommend Jersey. Rather expensive though. But it’s nice. And the bus system is good for getting around without a car :bus:

Source: I used to live there

I’ve been to Prague, Berlin, Amsterdam and Lanzarote.

Any short/weekend style getaways <£100 ideally.

Budget is key, and I know it’s going to be challenging to get most under £100 but that’s my goal.

You can’t go wrong with anywhere in Poland tbh.

I’ve never been, and never even heard of the place I mention above, or see anyone else ever talk about it

Belfast and Derry are both great places to visit on a weekend imo. Cheap too. I love Northern Ireland, fascinating place in the UK no one ever visits for some reason.

Gdansk is a stunning city. And Porto, both budget friendly.

Gonna see if anyone wants to join me to make the hotels cheaper  but I’m sure it’ll spark me some joy.

I’d join you if I could! Love a good weekend break. Try to get one a month for a while now (2025 shall be quieter sadly).

I’ve been trying to get more weekend breaks in too, sadly LPL is a bit far away.

<£100 breaks to Cardiff and London are also yes :joy:

I’ll come for a drink if you’re visiting Cardiff. I don’t think you’ll get much in London for <£100 though.

Is the £100 including flights? Just looked and it is
