They do that every Christmas.

Yeah I figured it would be at least a regular sale, so it’s actually the “true” price.

I got it for £150 a couple of years ago after using Duolingo for a year.

I don’t pay for it any more, but Office Family was always worth the money just for the OneDrive storage. £50 for 1TB (each) for five people is insanely good value, let alone getting all the Office apps on top.

Google Docs is plenty good enough for my personal use. I’ve been using it in my past three jobs over the last decade, so it’s actually more than good enough for all uses.

I had it but no longer. I use Busuu and textbooks now.

Duo is great for motivation if you don’t have any, because of the notifications and gamification of everything, but as a language learning tool it’s pretty dire imo

I find the notifications get tiring very quickly. I’m not a fan of the constant nagging.

It’s going up this year for me (usually pay annually), from £79.99 to £104.99

We only really use it for OneDrive as we get Office free through being students. I’ll be cancelling and looking at alternative cloud storage, or lowering to the basic version with 100GB storage at £1.99 p/m.

Looks like Google Drive has smaller tiers of cloud storage at £1.59 p/m for 100GB, so could be what I end up with.

Edit: Oh that’s cheeky. Went to cancel Office 365 so it doesn’t renew later this year and the higher pricing is because they have automatically moved me up to a version with AI, whereas when you cancel you get the option to move back to the “classic” version, same as before just without AI.

£80 seems like a lot in the first place.

I used to buy annual family codes for £40 to £50.

Wish I only needed 100GB! I pay for 2GTB of iCloud and Google Drive.

2TB? :eyes:

That’s a lot of stuff!

I found SoundCloud suits my taste better, but that’s because I listen to a lot of indie musicians. Their ads amount is actually tolerable.

YouTube is on the opposite extreme. So much ads and the subscription fee is RIDICULOUS.

Does anyone with Apple One know if I upgrade from Family to Premier today after I paid for my Family plan 2 days ago, will I just pay the difference?

I upgraded iCloud storage last year part way through a month and can’t remember if I paid only the difference or received a refund for the previous plan but either way I ended up only paying for the tier I upgraded to.

It says on the final page before paying, I didn’t want to risk clicking the previous button in case it just went through lol.

You will get a pro-rata refund on your existing subscription, and be charged the full price of the new plan immediately.
