Starling Bank Chat (Part 2)

I’ve got the itch to play with a new banking app… I’ll have to look elsewhere then :rofl:

Zopa?

Oh dear god, no.

The Zopa app ran terribly when I had it. Plus the card design is awful imo :sweat_smile:

Kroo? :face_with_peeking_eye:

Barclays = :cross_mark:

Revolut = Perhaps

LHV, been thinking of giving them a go once I get my reward from Chase since they have that tasty 4% on held balance now and Direct Debits.

Which reward? Have you tried the Barclays app? I don’t mind it.

LHV would be fine but notifications don’t have vibrate with iOS :weary_face:

They sent an email beginning of October that if you had your salary paid into your Chase account till the new year, they would give you £100 Amazon voucher.

Ohhh yeah. When’s that due?

Jan or end of Jan, I believe. As long as your October to December salary was paid in.

I was hoping to receive the offer but they didn’t bother so Revolut has my salary still :joy:

Strange, I don’t think I ever received it. Probably because my salary is already paid into Chase. Rewarding banking!

I had only just switched it over that month tbh. But I contacted CS and they told me I would be eligible.

I had been back to using Chase more for a couple of months at this point though. So maybe they wanted to push me over the edge to get me use them as my main bank.

On the other hand, people like me might feel salty enough to switch over to a different bank!

I’d have preferred if it was £100 cash. But I guess an Amazon voucher is worth it too…

I am surprised at this point that Starling are not considering allowing people to return but then Chase don’t either.

I have considered using them again, over Monzo, which I currently use but I quite like the simplicity of First Direct

Previously I could understand why Chase wasn’t letting people back. With the whole 1% on everything.

But not that the cashback is pretty naff and the Credit card is meh. I don’t get the point in restrictions.

Starling, who knows. Makes no sense to me all. It’s a basic fintech account with no really rewards someone might milk or anything.

Oh didn’t know Starling had a reason for it.
