Starling Bank Chat (Part 2)

Not keen on the green homescreen- make it look more like a legacy bank

On my iPhone it certainly looks more teal but on my Samsung, it’s more subtle.

I have changed banks so many times last year, I think for me personally, if the home screen colour is all I can moan about, it’s ok.

I find closing the app, by swiping upwards, hides the balance just as well, and quicker :man_shrugging::joy:

Edit: Joking aside, just did the long press and it really is not that long. Very effective :+1:

Yes - a couple of years at least.

Better than in (the) red

They are different, but not by a lot.

I always thought the fact that one clearly says personal and the other joint was a bit of a giveaway

Business is still purple.

Just as well, as I don’t like either of those greens.

The business debit card is dark blue. It’s actually quite nice. It’s a shame they went so bright with their personal card designs. The teal is hideous.

I’ve recently opened a second business account with them for an Ltd and it was a rather slick onboarding experience. They did come back with a couple of questions before opening the account but it was all sorted within a couple of hours.

I was expecting it to be more difficult, given their recent regulatory issues around KYC.

They’re similar colours but different enough to be obvious. Anyone who said they couldn’t tell the difference I’d assume was pulling my leg or had vision problems.

It’s likely dependent on display settings and/or display hardware as well.

To me, they are quite obviously different.

For once my eyes appear to be working properly and there is an obvious difference to me. The top one is a darker (bluer?) green than the bottom one.

They are similar colours, but the top card, the personal one, is a darker shade of green than the joint card underneath. Neither of them are anything like my actual Starling card, which is a much brighter green, or Teal if you insist.

I can see the difference in them, but they aren’t different enough for me to be able to remember which is which if I saw them on their own and had to identify which account it was.

I don’t really understand the logic in making them so similar, but different. You can’t tell at a glance which account is which, so just leave them the same?

I can see what you mean. The bottom one is greener than the top one.

I’ve not followed Starling colours and don’t even have their account, but to me these two look extremely similar and I wouldn’t be able to tell if I was looking at a personal or joins account just by the colour

I agree. Not sure what they are doing. It would have been an ideal way to differentiate screens, but it has not been implemented.

Separate question Starling:

What is everyone’s experience of their Virtual Cards to spend from a Space? Any bugs or issues? I have encountered an issue with their expiry dates being too far forward for some retailers.

Also, does anyone have any insight on when applications for EUR accounts will reopen?

Used regularly. 100% success rate (when not locked in app :man_facepalming::joy:)

Such an own goal. Bet they wish they had just left the interest well alone now!
