Spending more than flex limit

If I had a £1000 flex limit but wanted an item costing £1500, can I use the flex to buy and it take the over limit amount from my main account?

Nope. You can flex £1,000.

See it like a credit card. If you had a Lloyds account and a Lloyds credit card, your credit card limit is your limit regardless of how much is in your current account.

Downside to Flex is you can’t overpay (like you can with a credit card) and then spend over your credit limit but still remain within it (if that makes sense)…

I’m sure there was a comment saying it was being looked into for paying part flex part cash. Ages ago though and whether that’s still on the cards who knows.

I’ve never actually done that to be fair so wouldn’t have ever crossed my mind to

Some shops will let you part pay. To split a transaction between multiple payment methods. So you could pay the £1k on flex, and the other £500 with a different card, and achieve the same net result.
