Sky Glass and Sky Stream

For anyone interested, looks like Sky’s Black Friday sale is £19 per month for Sky Stream on a 24 month contract, £22 per month on a rolling 31 day contract.

Not sure if that’s 4K (I thought that was an extra charge on Sky - but there’s no option to add it during the sign up process) and it also seems to include ‘Whole Home’.

If 4k is included, that’ll bring it down close to what I’m spending with NowTV instead - especially if the ‘Whole Home’ add-on lets me use Sky Go on Apple TV.

£6 extra a month for 4K. £11 extra to upgrade Netflix to 4k
£5 extra to be able to fast forward on demand ads.

Whole home is £12 a month but it seems like BF is free setup (aka second Stream box)

Wonder if I can get the Black Friday deal or something close for renewal. My contract is up beginning of December…

Or will I have to do the I’m walking away dance… :joy:

You can cancel when you’re within 30 days I think. So you could/should be able to get that deal on a renewal now.

This is likely what I’ll end up doing probably give them a ring tonight to discuss my renewal

You can do it via chat, that’s what I did the last time. It takes aaaaaaaaages as they are probably replying to about 19 different people at a time, but it does give you the numbers written down and then if you’re not so confident to try and haggle on the phone, it’s easier to type “That’s still more than I was hoping for, I really don’t want to leave Sky but that’s quite expensive, is there anything else you can do?” and just keep saying similar.

I had a spreadsheet open with what I was paying on my current deal, what standard was and what they were offering.

If you have a look on HUKD and MSE, there will be a Sky deals/haggling thread where people are discussing what they’ve recently managed to get. I take some of them with a punch of salt as people always want to have the better deal, but that’s slightly less likely if they post screenshots.

Never thought about doing it via live chat. I’ll give that a go as getting through the robo-gate keeper on the phone can be a frustrating experience.

They refused to match the £19 offer and instead offered £25… Told them to cancel it. We’ll see if they ring up later to try and retain me

Weirdly just had an email telling me they’re so happy that I’ve taken them up on a new deal. I did not I told them I was cancelling… But the new deal gives me the Black Friday offer of £19 Sky TV + Netflix plus the £6 addon for HD ad-less Netflix. so the same £25. A little narked off they just signed me up with out okaying first. But happy they matched the BF offer which is what I wanted. :joy:
