What would be really useful is if the names of your virtual cards were shown on the cards themselves in Apple Wallet instead of just “VIRTUAL”, e.g. “Clothes” …not sure why this isn’t a feature already!
It’s a great idea, and you’re not the first person to suggest it, but there is a technical limitation which prevents this from being possible.
Sadly it’s not possible. If you have a search you’ll see all the other times it’s been asked for.
Plot twist. There isn’t. The card images can be updated remotely, on the fly, at any time, according to the specifications.
As I understood it, the images are fixed and have to be part of the source, so unless Apple permits use of a SVG or the like – allowing the image to be overwritten with text “on the fly” before sending to the wallet – then you’d need to have an image for every possible variation held in the source. I don’t dispute that you can change the image at any time, but I dispute that the image is “flexible” in the way it would need to be.
