Most chose FPS over direct debit as it’s not a regular payment in my experience. If they’re sending the business money then in likelihood the business holds a lot more sensitive information then just account details

Exactly, this is nothing new. Been going on for decades. When you pay someone, you give them your account details.

For me it’s a regular payment 8 times a year
I have their name and address
Quick, notify them, they’ve accidentally typed up all their bank details, accidentally formatted it into valid HTML, and accidentally posted it to their web server.
