Secrecy around lending decisions, credit scores & other nonsense

I think it’s also important for us all to remember that the logic that goes into credit checks can be incredibly complex and may be made up of 100s of different factors. The criteria potentially dynamically changes very regularly to reflect the needs of the business. A company I once worked at would change their criteria as least once a day, so if you got declined today you could be accepted tomorrow, even though the hard search performed on you would have lowered your credit score. This was about a decade ago, so I’m not sure if this is reflective of today.
Nonetheless, instead of a blanket and generic response to failed credit applications, it would be nice to have maybe the top three main reasons why the application was declined.
