Schedule entire pot withdrawal

Hi, I would really like to schedule a pot withdrawal for the entire pot balance at the time of withdrawal, rather than a fixed amount.

My use case is below:

I have a joint account, a personal account and my partner also has a personal account. We use a joint credit card for rewards and so pay everything via that card and pay it off at the end of the month. We use pots in all 3 accounts to put aside the payments made on the cards.

Each month before the payment for the credit card goes I have to go to the joint account, clear its pot balance and transfer to my personal account.

My partner does the same for her pot. Thans I clear my own pot. That ensures enough money for the card payment.

What I would like is to automate this process. For example:

  1. On 25th of each month schedule withdrawal from partners pot.
  2. Instead of a fixed amount, schedule the withdrawal to be the balance of the pot at the time of withdrawal.
  3. Schedule this in to my account.
  4. Repeat schedule for joint pot to my account.
  5. Repeat schedule for my pot to my account.

Hopefully this makes sense. It is all possible now except I have to state a fixed amount in the scheduled withdrawal but I want a dynamic option for “withdraw entire pot balance”.

Why not just change each of your credit card DDs to come from the joint account, and set them to be taken from a single pot in that account? (Rather than having 3 pots)

That’s what we do with our credit cards - with the exception of Flex of course.

Thanks for the reply. Without going too much in to our financial arrangements, we use the joint account for joint and family spending, but our own accounts for spending individually because of differences in salary. Therefore we will always have quite a few things we buy and pay for from our own accounts.

But the credit card we use for all transactions regardless of account for the cashback it gives us. So the three pots are needed to store transactions from the 3 accounts we use.

What I should do though is set it to pay the card from my pot at least and then that’s one less pot to clear each time.
