Say Hello!

@Galaxygamerone @DavidGallagher

The press reports did say that Monzo accounts will be offered in Ireland in the ‘coming months’ - I think you may have a bit of a wait to go yet, doubt we will see much or any movement in the waitlist in the immediate future anyway :slightly_smiling_face:

Hey @dsd23 - I don’t think it’s very clear. The agents I spoke with in monzo Ireland said people are getting accounts and they are rolling it out in phases and to keep an eye on the notifications in the app.

I think it needs to be clearer

Patience is key.

It is but I’m so impatient but it’ll be worth the wait :sob:

Easy for you to say - sitting with a monzo account already

Let me know if you move up the queue

I don’t use it though unless there’s a nice cashback offer.

The app design puts me off, but I think that’s more because the changes over the years and outgrowing the young appeal the app gives.

Hey everyone, new here and looking forward to seeing Monzo launch in Ireland. We really need the competition in the Irish market

Hi, I’m in Ireland. Currently a reasonably happy Revolut customer but curious about what Monzo might offer. Have also used N26 in the past.

Hello!

Hey folks :waving_hand:

I’m Kush, based in the London office, but helping with the Irish launch. Specifically looking after our business accounts- so you’ll see a lot of me talking about all things business here.

Outside of work, I love football (Man Utd, so love it slightly less at the moment), Cricket and have a 1 year old daughter who has just learnt to walk!

Fun fact: I do not like beer….but 3 years ago I came to Dublin for a family trip, went to the Guinness Storehouse had a proper Guinness and now love the stuff!

Ah Kush, you’ll fit right in so - anyone who’s been converted by a proper Guinness has clearly seen the light. We’ll have you saying “grand” and giving out about the weather in no time.

Fair play on the Man Utd loyalty too… that’s real character development. Most of us would’ve switched to GAA years ago for the sake of our blood pressure.

And congrats on the little one walking - enjoy the last few minutes of peace you’ll ever have. Once they’re mobile, it’s game over.

Looking forward to all the business chat… and watching your Guinness intake steadily rise the longer you’re dealing with Irish clients.

Hi everyone & happy new year!

Elaine here, I am the Country Manager for Monzo Ireland (hopefully I won’t meet the same recent fate as the Man Utd. & Chelsea managers  )

I joined Monzo in February ‘24 and have spent the last 18 or so months buried under a mountain of regulatory documentation. Nobody was happier than I to have received our authorisation and licence to operate as a bank in Ireland than me on 16th December !

We have lots of exciting products and great features to bring you over the next few months. I know many of you are on the waitlist, so bear with us as we work through it !

Other than my Monzo life, I’m a mum of 3 (JJ 16, Ana 15 & Betsy 11), have 2 dogs and live in Maynooth. In my spare time, I play piano (party piano rather than anything very sophisticated), walk/gym, listen to podcasts and staying connected to friends and family. I follow Westmeath GAA (although not much to shout about atm), seasonal rugby fan and tread the boards from time to time. :performing_arts:

Looking forward to hearing from you all over the coming weeks/months !

Oh and am not a Guinness drinker, I prefer a nice Spanish Rioja - Cune is the house wine here in Maynooth :wine_glass:

Stay warm folks !

Elaine :ireland:

Thank you David. I had a spice bag too recently, and i’m a convert on that. Not sure if thats a good or a bad thing, but @Cian led me there.

On business Chat- do you have a vested interest in business/business accounts?

Stranger things have happened !!!

I’ll learn the offside rule and we’ll be in business
