I don’t hate it but don’t love it. The other accounts are now 2 taps away as it switched which one is visible on the first tap.
They say it’s to save space, but it fit all 4 on one screen before so If the space saving only really applies to people with >= 5 accounts that can’t be very many.
With all that wasted empty space below your accounts I think they’ve saved a bit too much!
That takes banking UI design a step back tbh. Because that’s how the home screens used to look. A simple list of accounts. And if you only had one, the rest of the screen was empty.
Plenty of space for 2 more to show here. So it’s always been able to fit 4. And I have a regular sized iPhone 15 Pro, so not even the largest display. And they’d all be accessible with a single tap.
That’s because this isn’t the final iteration. When they started teasing this they said they’re making more space for further improvements for a more customisable experience.
What that will be? I have no idea, and I’m not sure they know either because we haven’t been shown even a mockup.
I can’t say I’m a fan. Everything looks too close together and I sometimes struggle to focus on what I’m wanting to see. For accessibility I think it’s a step back. In my example I have 7 “accounts” and I still can’t see the rewards tab and have to scroll down. I can see everything if I move down slightly with the approval section out of view.
The cleaner look before was better. Two taps to enter what was before only once is annoying. The shortcuts don’t really add any benefits. I don’t need a quick way to payments. There is a separate section for this which gives me a complete overview.
Frees up space only to advertise. I’ve disabled that so I only see my accounts
I sent some feedback but never heard back. I think people need to raise feedback if they’re unhappy and hopefully they’ll revert some of these changes.
I’m probably late to the party but noticed my Child & Co is now a select account with a different sort code and account number. I’ve not has any information sent about this - and my payments to & from the original details still and have been working. Odd not to even get an email
My Child & Co account is still exactly the same, although it does say Select Account in the account listing. The Select account is their standard fee-free account so maybe it always called it that.
I think it has always displayed as that when you went into one of the inner menus. Can’t actually remember if it always showed the account name on the homepage, but it’s definitely always been referred to as a Select account somewhere.
Try it. You need to use it on working day between 9am and 9pm. I’m not sure that the person who reported it not working did that I.e. it may still work.
