Interesting observation with Revolut today.

Moved my salary back to my personal account for ease. First one is due Friday.

I’m now at an employer who pays via BACS. I noticed there is no longer any reference to ā€œearly salaryā€ so out of interest I contacted support.

They were very keen to stress that the times depend on your employer but caveated it by saying that BACS payments do still credit at 5pm on day 2.

Perhaps they have decided to drop it as an advertised feature due to too many erroneous requests (I am very aware of the irony but having been with Revolut since 2020 I wondered if there had been a change & won’t ask again!) by people paid by FP or their employer moved the date etc?

Might make sense given how many people still seem to ask in Monzo’s case.

On the other hand seems odd to have the functionality but remove all references to it!

That is a strange one.

Maybe they are updating the page for it?

This is like the payday loan/drawdown feature not the paid at 5pm the day before (which I’m sure they used to reference as ā€œearly salaryā€)

Is a bit confusing tbf

Perhaps. But the chat agent said ā€œit is not a specific featureā€ but also that nothing has changed and payments still credit at 5pm the day before

I think they need to put some new guidance out there. Fair enough not to market the feature but for those who have been around for years it was a bit odd seeing it missing.

Let’s see tomorrow afternoon sure it’ll drop in.

Do update us; though I do believe it still works as my friend mentioned it the other day.

Surprisingly, my credibility has improved being paid into a high street bank than it ever was being in revolut, as the credit search’s couldn’t see turnover of revolut.

Will do. Reckon it’ll be fine to be fair. It must just be to stop people messaging about it.

Fortunately credit wise I’m all set till 2027 so decided I’ll get paid where I fancy

This is now with ClearBank, the previous was with Paragon.

4% is good! Though surprised they made a move like this given they will soon be able to offer their own.

By the way, existing Savings Account don’t move automatically to the new provider and rate, so you need to close your existing Saver and then open another new Saver. All quite simple though….

I had the black card, it was a different texture to the space grey metal, like bumpy instead of smooth.

No, it’s nothing like those two.

Can’t explain it. If I can be bothered I’ll go find it in a bit.

What do they look like?

Dropped in just after 5pm.

I’ve noticed there is now a salary sort function (too late I’d already sent funds to my joint acct)

I’ve now opened a 4% saver as I will use this to reach a savings goal rather than my established savings

Does it save the salary sort for the next month or do you do it manually every time?

Sorry if you don’t know!
