On the phone snatching front, I received a new feature on my Android today to lock your device when it detects it has been snatched

Have you had a snatching test yet?
Picking it up and shaking it doesn’t do anything, so it must be able to detect actual travel? 
My dog has a satchel on his harness so if I remember when walking him tomorrow, I might stick it in there and throw his ball to see what it does

Not entirely the same but my partner waved excitedly at a family member over the Xmas period, setting off the Crash Detection on her new Pixel Watch 3 and it called the Emergency Services - that must take up most of the call handlers time.

Shake it then run. That’ll do it.
You can also set Pixel to lock when it goes offline, and lock it using only the phone number on a web browser. As well as remotely wipe the phone.
