Request a blog post!

Aw. I had a similar joke saved as a draft but you’ve beat me to the punchline.

Yours is my favourite suggestion so far, so I hope they do that one.

Would be good to see how your Internal IT Teams manage the Corporate Technology stack, and also how you secure email as a regulated company…

As an Corp IT SME specialising in Email Admin and MDM, it would be good to see how peers do it.

:eyes: Intriguing…

I am asking @jenwilkinson if I can break the silence and give a hint as to why there might suddenly be a very large influx of blog posts on experiments, failed products etc :eyes:

Quoting to double down on the sentiment.

(And thanks in advance @jenwilkinson )

I’d personally like to understand how you make 2000 microservices without it exploding in your face! I’ve seen a number of these systems in the wild and they were universally awful, but somehow Monzo has made it work. I’d especially like to understand how you don’t end up writing nested loops joins all over the place when you have to extract data from multiple services. Or is it that each user basically only has access to their own feed of transactions and so this whole problem for most systems just isn’t one for Monzo?

Stay tuned! All will be revealed in the coming weeks :eyes:

Thank you for the suggestion! We aren’t heavy email users at Monzo, but our lovely TechOps team is responsible for all sorts of our company IT. We haven’t seen them on the blog in a while so I’ll give them a nudge

Now you’ve said that, something on how Monzo use email vs slack.

To me, Teams/Slack or whatever “chat” type systems, are for the chats, the ad-hoc questions but anything more official, certainly to a wider group, would go via email.

Maybe we just work in the dark ages.

My rule of thumb is that Teams is used for chat, queries and updates, and email is used for requests and information handovers.
The frustrating thing is though that there’s no single company wide approach and everyone uses them differently.

Dont get me started on Slack vs Teams I manage both as well as the entire M365 stack at my place…

So if I’ve read this right, something’s happened that means that there can be more blog posts. Is that other people’s readings too?

Could this be related? :thinking::eyes:

(Also, the pedant in me wants to start talking about Monzo (the international company) then Monzo UK and Monzo US for specific features or subsets thereof).
