Recategorise Petrol payments causes re-push

Experienced a strange bug with petrol payments today.

I recategorised Tesco petrol from Transport to a new custom category and applied it to all past transactions. I immediately received push after push after push stating an amount was held and then another saying final amount.

The same thing happened when I changed my Asda petrol payments.

It’s a joint account so my wife also received the pushes.

I’m guessing it resends the two messages for every payment it recategorised, which for us was a lot, going back a few years :man_facepalming:

It shouldn’t act in this way when you recategorise transactions.

Does it do it with any other merchants?

I’ve just tested by recategorising one of mine (Costco Petrol Station). I only did the single transaction but I got 2 notifications just like OP. This was on my personal account.

I did the same thing for a Morrisons Petrol transaction from April 2024 and the same thing happened, so yeah… definitely a bug somewhere.
