You do have the power to control whether it is available or in a pot though.

But if someone has £50 in their account knowing that they have a bill of £25 to pay in 10 days, but spends the £50 tomorrow, they wouldn’t incur overdraft charges until the £25 comes out. But if the £25 was in a pot, the person would incur charges as soon as they spent the £50.

If your account has a positive balance, there shouldn’t be any overdraft charges - because there’s no overdraft.
