I cancelled my £5/mo Monzo Plus addon today and Monzo insist on reissuing me with a new card.
I view this as rather petty, quite wasteful and very inconvenient. Disappointing since I’ve been a Monzo user and investor since beta.

Well the Plus card is part of the Plus plan not the standard plan. Reverting to the standard card for your now standard plan is the process.
Investor status doesn’t make you any special. You’ll still have your investor wording on the back if it makes you feel good.
It’s more the inconvenience of the card number changing and the wastefulness.
why can’t monzo just yank the virtual Plus features and not be wasteful and inconvenient?
I couldn’t care less about the holographic finish.
When you activate the new card, on that screen it’ll ask you if you want card numbers to be updated automatically by the updater service.
This won’t apply to all merchants, mostly those that offer recurring services, but it does work.
