PDF statement for individual payments / transactions

And even then, what does this PDF prove?

The proof is the person receiving the money, not some easily edited PDF.

About as moot as landlords saying ā€œshow me youve set up a standing order to pay your rent and Iā€™ll let to youā€ā€¦

What, that same SO I can cancel any time I like? Yep thatā€™s solid evidence :joy:

I can only think of the couple of times that, as a customer service person Iā€™ve dealt with people saying theyā€™ve paid something I can see they havenā€™t. I would ask them to send proof knowing they couldnā€™t  Usually theyā€™d send a screenshot of a payment to somewhere else or for something else.

With the landlords / agents, I guess the payment is going direct to the landlord and the agents (property agents generally being lazy and disorganised by nature) want an easy (for them) way to know itā€™s been paid without the faff of taking the payment themselves and sending it on.

Eh? A legal tenancy agreement is what is counted as proof of tenancy. Not a PDF stating that you intend to pay rent by standing order.

And if the property is managed by a letting agent, you should be paying the rent to the letting agent, not the landlord. In fact, you shouldnā€™t be dealing with the landlord AT ALL.

Think this was aimed to my comment, I agree.

However, having worked previously in a referencing company for lets, some London companies would require to see the standing order was set up before keys were handed over.

Ridiculous, I agree, I laughed when the agent told me.

From a legal point, whether the SO was there or not the tenant is still allowed in unless it was a refuse to sign landlord side if the evidence wasnā€™t given :man_shrugging:t3:

Thatā€™s where my comment came from.

In my experience it is incredibly common to be asked to provide ā€œRemittance Adviceā€ to show the payment has been made with all the details to allow the recipient to find it on the bank account.

I donā€™t understand why a banking system aimed at business doesnā€™t provide this super simple feature.

Monzo pleaseeeeee add this. Pretty please?

Insane that this isnā€™t a feature yet.

Being able to send proof of a transfer as a PDF is pretty easy win. All my other banks allow me to do that, and Monzo is supposed to be FinTECH

Itā€™s not. Have you read the comments above?

Yes I have read the comments above. As a software engineer myself I understand the problem, and have implemented similar things in the past. They already have templates created to generate multiple kinds of PDF. The UX would follow the same or similar pattern as in other areas of the site, or copy a pattern from a similar app.

As said in a comment above, the amount of people that would come and use this forum is a tiny percentage of Monzoā€™s userbase. Scanning through some of the other Feedback and Ideas posted, something like iPad App with 220 votes would considerably more effort compared to this idea with 82 votes.

Iā€™ve been a Monzo customer since the Beta, one of the first 10,000 people to sign up. And only now am I joining this forumā€¦

You should therefore understand that there are likely hundreds, if not thousands, of ā€œquick thingsā€ on the to-do list.

If it doesnā€™t generate revenue or, as you say, people arenā€™t shouting about it a lot, then it shouldnā€™t be a surprise that itā€™s still outstanding.

Little things make a big difference, sometimes. So Iā€™ve been told.

Which are, out of interest?

I think only Revolut do of all the banks I have been with, though I have barely used Chase so maybe they do

NatWest group do. Think thatā€™s about it. I think thereā€™s another but canā€™t think who.

Iā€™m surprised to be here. I just switched to Monzo with my business account. Imagine mu surprise when I wanted to fill the books and realised itā€™s impossible to generate transaction statement in the appā€¦

Big let down, to be honest. Iā€™ve been using this feature with other banks extensively (mainly for accounting records, as well as communication with vendors/clients).

Monzo app is great and intuitive otherwise, so I feel disappointed, but this is pretty crucial feature - so gonna have to switch over to other bank for time being. Hopefully it will get implemented in Monzo soon, Iā€™d love to come back to this app !
