We use a joint account for managing our regular monthly expenses. To do this we use a lot of pots, for example I have one for fuel and one for travelling expenses. It’s topped up the day I get paid which is either the 1st or the first working day after the first.
Because of the changes for weekends and holidays, I can’t set an automatic transfer on payday and instead have to do s manual transfer or have loads of cash sitting in my account for a couple of days in case payday falls on a weekend.
It would be much easier if I could label a bank transfer as ‘Petrol Pot’ and it be moved straight into the pot when it’s paid in.
