Ooof - a kick to the left one:
Double-Ooof - now the right:
Double ooof indeed
I agree with this
Paying from a pot would be ideal
From what I understand, as long as you start the challenge, you can complete it.
If you downgrade to a free account, the challenge will continue but you won’t earn interest anymore.
I believe the challenge will be part of the paid plans only from next year. I cant remember where I saw this, so hopefully someone else can
I also vaguely remember this, so had a (lengthy) search. Found it in the Monzo eligibility section of the 1p challenge terms:
“From 1 February 2025 onwards, you can only open a Challenge Pot if you’re aged 18 or over and have a Subs plan (excluding any free trials).”
Source: Monzo 1p Saving Challenge Pot Terms & Conditions
If I take this at face value, once the current 1p challenge hits day 365, a new 1p challenge would only be available with a paid plan. Unless Monzo choose to ‘free-trial’ it like the current one was last January.
We are about half way through.
How many people left in the challenge? @Monzo
I’m still in. I’m always hoping for a prize win, but it’s also my Christmas gift sink pot, so it’s actually useful!
I echo what you said.
Please please can you allow 1p challenge deductions to come out of my budget/tag to a spend catergory? I am forever adjusting my monthly budget. Also agree with allowing to come from a pot would help solve this.
Yeah this is the no 1 reason that I’ll end up turning it off, don’t like how it doesn’t align with Target
How many people left in the challenge?
Me. I’m holding out for the £10K
I’m basically counting on those 10k at this point
My wife and I are still both in. We haven’t really thought about it since the start, which is kind of the point for us. Extra £1,300 towards a trip to Greece next year!
I’m still in. But I’ve been in an annual 1p Challenge every year since the IFTTT applet launched.
Doing it the Monzo way this year means the massive kerching-smile day moves from the end of December to early January.
Still in. The more of you that drop out the more chances I have of winning something ![]()
I snoozed the notifications, they were annoying
I’m in, but I did turn off rounding as I was finding my current account getting a bit low with both.
I have worked out that doing the 1p challenge for the whole year costs about £9.20 (in lost interest assuming a rate of 4.1%)
For the expected value of taking the challenge to be higher than its cost, there need to be less than 1,081 people left by the end…
