Ooo 2 days to go for me!
Thanks few days left for me.
100 days for me today, too
It’s day 101 today. I’ve got that amount (-2p) after adding £1.01 today.
I’m on day 96 & have accrued 0.08 interest to date! My biggest bugbear is recording it in my accounts package. I don’t want to add it every day so I just update the total by rolling it over every day. Problem is I have to re-reconcile my balance. No big deal but it’s a faff so probably won’t do it next year.
Is it possible to have the 1p payments appear in Target? My account balance and my ‘left to spend’ are way out of line now because Target doesn’t count them.
Anyone won the £100?
Not me. Again.
Although the 1P challenge has generated £0.27 of interest for me so far, so a win of sorts.
No
Nada
This is a great idea and I’m taking part this year…but for future 1p challenges, could we have the option to start by depositing £3.65 and then decrease the daily amount over the course of the year?
The current way means that right over the Christmas period (traditionally a very expensive time of year ) I’m going to be paying out a significant amount of money to remain in the challenge.
They’ve already mentioned this is something they’ll look at. When or if I happens is anyones guess though!
I started to think the reverse option would be good for the reasons stated above but I’ve now started putting aside £56/month from January and if you pay in it increasing order, then you won’t go over that amount. For me, this feels better than having to shell out ~£100 in January and slowly decreasing.
Though I plan to stick with the challenge I am finding it annoying, I now budget that money in a pot and take it out in chunks every few days to cover the challenge - I may as well had just put £50 a month in savings, at least then I wouldn’t have to keep worrying about not having enough in my personal account.
I pot everything up as part of my budgeting, and I hate having recurring payments coming direct from my personal account, I prefer they come from pots and this challenge does my nut in for that reason.
only 8 months to go
If you’re already disciplined with saving, your money can work harder for you in other ways, instead of doing this savings challenge
Agreed, I started it out of interest but I don’t think it is for me - however is it worth hanging on for that chance at the £10,000?
It’s the only reason I’m keeping up with it but then thinking of the chances of winning, is it worth it.
You’ve got to be in it (to have a slimmer than slim chance) to win it
I’m taking the chance
It’s really not worth it. You all get out of it so @davidwalton and I have a better chance of winning it!
