I’m sure pre-authorisations are known to the bank so I don’t see how they couldn’t just exempt them from a roundup. ---

Would it be that with Monzo they show up as a pending charge rather than a authorisation hold and Starling show them as a hold so can exclude them? Perhaps? I don’t know I’m just spit balling 🤣 ---

I’m sure monzo also knows a hold, but possibly not designed the app to ignore them. First direct for example, charge and reverse 1p for apple wallet auth. If that happened with monzo they wouldn’t exclude it being \<£1 without additional efforts to code and ignore. Resulting in people complaining 99p has disappeared to roundups and 🤷‍♂️ as majority of customers wouldn’t understand. Some of the above may be technically incorrect, but hopefully understood. ---

I remember when Flex launched and trying to explain refunds to Flex/bank account was an absolute challenge to the majority. I’m sure this would also go down like a lead balloon 😂 ---

Got 4 savings pots directly with Monzo, plus 4 third party, and 1p challenge. So far, i’ve only had an email that mentions my 1p challenge pot being lowered by 0.25%p. Also had a drop from a Paragon pot a few weeks ago. So far, nothing about the other 3 third party ones, or for my standard Monzo provided savings pots. ---
