What if they enabled all sectors they can support, and thus there is no waitlist. I.e. no current plans to support more sectors in any foreseeable future.
All of the things listed have very high fraud levels. Thus might be unsuitable to be adequately under compliance for monzo to fullfil their duties. Maybe try banks which deal with high fraud industries - like HSBC?

That isn’t a “coming soon” list. It’s a list of businesses Monzo doesn’t want to be involved with.
If that’s the case they need to change the wording online and change the in-app experience to sign up under one of those sectors.
When selecting any of those, you can still carry on the sign up process where it should cut you straight off, rather than sending you on a waiting game to be ‘verified’
The page states the following, which leads me to believe that support may come in the future.
In future, we might offer accounts to some of these industries. But we appreciate this is disappointing for some businesses at the moment.

High amounts of cash in hand transactions, “unhappy” clients raising bogus disputes, VAT/taxes evasion & avoidance, harder to audit & trace, with potentially unpredictable turnovers which can be easily inflated / hidden, only showing profits just enough to break even. These industries don’t just cook books, but have multiple sets of books for each day.
So yeah, the list doesn’t seem that shocking to me, and definitely has a pattern.
