 If there are places in North Korea that accept Mastercard (the gift shop maybe?) your Monzo should work there! But yes, likely not ---

Lol đŸ€Ł . Isn’t North Korea on sanctions list which prevent some international transactions? I’m sure the US also issued an executive order penalizing any company or person doing business with North Korea by cutting off access to the US financial system? Even the 3 ATM’s North Korea have are useless to the Chinese tourists because of Chinese sanctions on North Korea. I actually heard they have pretty decent ski resorts however those are for tourists only. 🙊 ---

I’d say ‘occasionally’ ([Monzo Help - Where Monzo cards are accepted](https://monzo.com/help/travelling/monzo-card-accepted-everywhere)) Although if you need an update because you’re travelling to NK, please share your experiences being there! ---

Sure does. Enjoyed a luxury break at the Kaechon internment camp a couple of weeks ago. The shops are a little basic, but managed to pick up everything I needed using Monzo. ---

Absolutely not. Under US sanctions it would be illegal for any US company or subsidiary of one (read Visa, MC, Amex etc) to process any payments involving North Korea ---

I’d be inclined to go for MyGuava which offers a UnionPay card that should be outside the US sanctions. ---

I think everything I have ever read says take USD or Euro cash.
