I received some money in my Monzo account from my stepdad’s sister as part of my stepdad’s dad’s will. My stepdad also sent his portion of £5,000, so the total should be £10,000. However, I haven’t seen his transfer show up yet, even though it was sent about 5 hours ago. Could the delay be due to the Easter holiday?
Any larger payments can be held up for multiple reasons as they usually trigger extra checks. Having executed an estate myself a couple of years ago I had a few delays when sending the money to relatives. Although some payments happened immediately others took till the next day to arrive. This is definitely the case if any manual checks are needed.
Thank you JayJay, this might be the problem. I will take a re-look tomorrow even though a bank holiday and Tuesday too just in case and yes, it might be reviewed by the bank for fraud just in case. However he does have my account details due to my rent going to him and my mum for rent @truCido.

The very latest it should arrive is by close of business on the next working day after it was sent - so sometime on Tuesday.
Update: - By the looks of it my stepdads and mums account has now been frozen due to it, he is calling the their bank’s fraud team due to it later on so it can be processed to my account.
