I can see that better when the logo is on a dark background. It’s not as clear, to me anyway, on white.
I do agree with you with that, but I still see a bird more rather than a house.
I’m glad you said that, from the second I saw it I could only see a Bittern, like this logo:
Opposite for me. I wonder if there’s something psychological about people who see the shadows rather than the objects (and vice versa).
It is odd. I was really struggling to see a house and the only way I could really was by doing that little drawing of it. Probably shouldn’t be used on logos if people do see different things. Would think this would have come up in focus groups, if they did any.
In my case I saw someone on Reddit say it looked like a crow before I had seen it. So it’s a crow now
I couldn’t really see anything. Just some shapes. Someone explained the bird comment. It’s all I can see now.
PacMan about to eat a crayon?
Sorry to keep going on, but everything about this rebrand is just bad imo.
The blue and pink/red colours just look dull compared to everything else. It doesn’t stand out at all.
I don’t think they know the meaning of that word.
For example still insisting on a card reader where I know of not one other bank that does. Plus the app itself hasn’t (apart from the redesign obvs) changed one bit since 2016.
They added gambling controls last week…
But yes, although I like the app, it could never be described as modern.
They are working on updates to the app to launch next year (I’m not Tom Reed, by the way)
This is what the website said;
If you’re already using your current account in a digital wallet you’ll still see the old design.
To update to the new design, simply remove your existing card from the app and add it back in again. You will need to reauthenticate the card. But once you have, the new design will appear.
Anyone that adds their card into the apps moving forwards will see the new design. This will happen even if your physical current account card is in the old design.
The new logo looks like smoke billowing out of a chimney.
I’ve think they’ve said on twitter it will be a few hours until Apple is updated.
Just checked their Facebook comment again. Everyone apart from like 2 people are complaining about it and the only comments that Nationwide have bothered to reply to are those two who liked it. Seems Nationwide only cares about people who like their rebrand.
I’ve also got some concerns about the colour contrast between the red and blue. I’ve used some sites online that said the contrast isn’t good when small text is used. It isn’t a terrible contrast, but you’d think they’d want the contrast to be as good as possible for accessibility purposes. Thankfully they don’t use these colours that often, but it is used on things people will see everyday, such as the FlexAccount debit card.
As an example, this site Accessibility Color Contrast Checker WCAG Compliance (Free) , although many others said the same thing.
I’ve just opened the app for the first time in a while to see a message saying the they’ve changed the look of the app etc.
Except I haven’t got the updated version yet. It still looks the same.
It’s just the company branding, a new app design will be next year.
