Nationwide Chat 🏡

It’s not on my Android app, and there are no updates to download.

I’ve got the update. Just in time for me moving everything over to Nationwide so a very welcome change!

Last time was because of a hissy fit. This time it’s a calm move across because my needs have changed. I’m still obligated to interact with monzo because of Flex.

Got the update on my Android. It’s for debit card it seems, not credit card

And I’ve just seen that my £175 has landed in my FlexAccount. That was insanely quick considering the switch only finished yesterday :eyes:

I agree it’s not there. I update my apps daily. Seems like they’ve rolled it out on iOS first. That’s unusual - not.

I’m on android and have it, so it can’t be that

Perhaps they haven’t made the update available for everyone. My app version is 86.1.2

Yep I’m 86.1.4

Could be staged roll out. They will get it soon, may be.

I thought the same but I spoke to someone who worked at Amex in Brighton once in a bar and they said that an insane number of people spend abroad with their Amex (and businesses) so it brings enough money in to justify.

I guess if you’re working towards the BA companion voucher it makes sense to put your international spending on that card (if you’re at risk of not meeting the £15k goal through GBP spending).

All their other cards though it makes zero sense and one should instead just use a 0% debit/credit card.

I’ve had another Android app update overnight, and I’ve got it now.

Almost all their reward cards have goals/aims it’s not just the BA card.

Marriott card has 6x points per £1 on hotel spending, and a £25,000 annual spend free night bonus - you might want to use that abroad
Gold card has 2x rewards points overseas and a £10,000 spending bonus - you might want to use that abroad

It’s not as simple as “I can use the cash better”. Often there are reward flights available where cash prices are insane. You can spend slightly more overseas and get a reward flight saving you far more than you spent extra on fees, so you may want to continue to use Amex abroad regardless.

This is one of those small things that makes me very happy. Having to wait for the pin reminder to come through the post was incredibly frustrating. Serves me partially right I guess for forgetting the pin in the first place!

So this means the only banks now where you can’t see the PIN in-app are:

Virgin Money

Co-operative Bank

Metro Bank

AIB NI (you can hear your pin over the phone though)

Zempler (they text you your PIN)

There is a new Virgin Money app coming so I’m going to guess viewing the PIN will be likely but I guess we shall see.

Especially if the new Virgin app is the Nationwide one
