Monzo Mobile! šŸ“±

Sorry if this has been asked and answered already but can we do the following?

  • Sign up for a trial period, if we like upgrade the plan, and port number over at a later date? Or is everything fixed?

I have like 2 months left with my other supplier so would like to trial this and make a decision when the time is up.

You can change the plan any time and move your number in any time.

Upgrades happen immediately but downgrades happen at the end of the billing cycle. You can request any time.

Hi. I signed up using the form, made sure the email is the same as my monzo account used but not had any email as of yet. How long does it take to come through.

You might not get one. Just be patient

I didn’t get an email I don’t think, just a prompt in the app.

Have you tried nPerf. Always find fast slower than nPerf and Ookla although not that slow.

Hopefully these speed issues are teething issues or local issues. Should at least be getting the basics right.

It actually makes good contractual sense, as if things hit an issue with o2, 1Global can move the service over to another of the 3 MNO’s without much pain..

Remember Virgin Mobile, and the pain, moving from EE, to Vodafone to o2, it was a complete mess, so no wonder they went with a MVNE (Mobile Virtual Network Enabler)

so EE is clearly faster… altho I am upgrading the EE sim to faster speeds and should have that sim tomorrow.

But Monzo doesn’t even load the YouTube video to play the videos :joy: hense the terrible speed (even on 5G apparently)

Can you pay for the sim plan from a monzo business account?

Doesn’t look like it.

Looks like you’d also be in breach of the terms using it for business use.

Ah that’s a shame. I have a second sim that I rarely use but have to ensure I have some separation between work and personal contact, like switching it off completely when on holiday.

Currently I have both sims on EE’s network but it would be sensible to have one of them on another network to reduce the risk of having no signal on either sim.

Talkmobile usually have some good cheap sims, utilising Vodafone and Three infrastructure if it’s just for one offs.

Or just set a standing order from the business to personal to cover the cost.

No VAT receipt either.

With how Monzo are being recently you’d have no problem with having no signal on their plan hahah :joy:

Any further new on Monzo One…..or was that. Wind up…

You get a signal just doesn’t do anything

I’m just waiting for support. They asked me to test from home last night, tested and same result, no data.

My contract with EE ends on Sunday so I’m wanting to move before my next bill (not a good deal that I’m on..!)

If they can’t sort it today then I’ll chalk it down to a failed experiment and go elsewhere. Shame as I really liked the product as advertised but the reality hasn’t lived up to it so far.

Is there an ETA for the next set of unlocks? I’ve been on the waitlist for a while but only just discovered the Google form to hopefully speed up the process of getting onboard.

EE will likely be £14 next April and Monzo includes roaming
