Nobody noticed
Monzo representative on The Apprentice today being pitched to.
@jo would have been on it straight away
Thoughts - Im not clear what the partnership is exactly at first glance
Interesting. The rest of their website suggests they help with company IPOs…
The whole article is complete waffle and doesn’t say anything other than “we are working with Monzo”.
Probably to help support the Monzo outside UK expansion, from what I can understand.
Looks like they provide high net worth individuals with investment advice and management.
Maybe they’ll be there to support all the monzonauts who are about to become millionaires when the business IPOs?
Looks like ICONIQ Growth have acquired a shareholding in Monzo.
Given no announcement of a new funding round, and that ICONIQ have not been listed previously as an investor, I’d guess they’ve bought some shares on the secondary market (maybe from employees, as was suggested was happening late last year, or from another venture capital firm).
The article, and location of the firm, suggest Monzo have partnered for V2 of the US expansion.
ICONIQ Growth is just a venture capital firm. I don’t think their investment in Monzo is significant from a US expansion perspective - especially given Monzo already has a number of top-tier US venture capital firms as investors.
Muttley emoji
But not the wheezy laughter one, the ‘wrashem, frashem grrr’ one.
Ok buddy - you’re getting your photo taken today. Remember to put a shirt on, have a shave and comb your hair.
What?
Nothing.
That’s not cool.
Incredible. Well done to him.
And like the other person who was recently criticised for his casual dress code on the world stage, he can wear a stuffy outfit that everyone expects a leader to wear when the war has been won (against dinosaur banks, in Andy’s case).
Seriously how can you question/criticise his appearance when the article is about such a monumental achievement?
Success speaks for itself. He could be wearing a mankini and be more professional than you.
I don’t mind this. He’s not on national TV, and he’s not dressed stupidly. Simple t-shirt is very much what I’d expect from a fintech.
Nothing wrong with this IMO
Congratulations @andys
And if Andy delivers products to help us get wealthier then it’s a win-win
Image was also taken from LinkedIn anyhow
But congrats @andys
I think we saw this in action a while back when we got a super simple version of the app one day during an outage
Yea, Monzo did a blog post (and community thread) about it a bit ago:
