Congrats Lucy ![]()
Those nozzles were all on the same pump, right?
You didnât go around the other pumps and ask the other drivers if you could photo theirs? ![]()
They sure were haha Iâd have not bother otherwise.
I think the IPO is looking more and more like 2027!!
Year in review 2025 was crass, there was no choice between âkeep it sassy" or âbe nice please" like 2024. I even had a bonus âThis one is on me - said neither of you ever" with the ex husband named in the Year in Review. ![]()

Good on Taylor for reporting to the Ombudsman. ÂŁ20 compensation is stingy. I guess they really are the Primark of banks.
I still think the rounded corners were a weird choice, it looks like an error on all the ads ![]()
Not sure why they removed the nice/sassy choice, would definitely have helped remove the âshamingâ aspect that has caused the issues in the article.
People being upset about their actions is very typical ![]()
I personally fall on the side of âa bit of light-hearted funâ, but I can see why it might have upset her. I think taking it to the Ombudsman is possibly taking things a bit far and escalating it when they agreed with Monzo is taking it too far, IMO.
I disagree it falls into shaming. Facts are facts.
The ex husband one was a bit brutal, but Monzo wasnât to know and only sees a name, whether you arenât in any form of relationship or not.
Iâm not sure itâs Monzoâs fault for someone getting offended for being told a fact that they are high users of what is predominantly a junk food delivery service.
The fact they have complained to the ombudsman and then again when the ombudsman didnât agree with them would suggest to me that they are rather easily offended. If you donât want any comments on your annual spending then they clearly should have opted out.
Itâs the snow fIake society we live in.
I canât wait for scary movie 6 ![]()
As Monzo said, thereâs an opt-out so thatâs the obvious solution. Although opt-in might be a better solution. TBH this sort of thing was bound to happen sooner or later - Rewind is something of personal privacy nightmare and shows just how much data we are giving away every dayâŠ. As Monzo grows further I can see them ditching it as, despite the fact they pitch it as a fun feature, I think further complaints and issues will arise. I think if one of the big high street banks had a similar feature weâd have seen headlines about it long before now.
I agree. Sadly, a great number of people these days have convinced themselves that their financial situation is a result of âthe systemâ holding them back somehow, rather than because of their own financial decision-making.
Iâd imagine being confronted with the truth (and from your own bank) would be quite triggering for some people. The truth hurts.
If the customer had some sort of condition that makes them more sensitive to things like this, or more sensitive to things in general, then I would certainly have some sympathy.
Perhaps Monzo should make this opt-in for customers currently under the remit of the vulnerability team? Just a thought.
I wonder if there were any comments about people whp spent money in pubs, or on wine subcriptions, as being persistent-heads or an alky?
Would that be OK?
Seems weird to me. The defence is that Monzo wouldnât know. When I donât know peopleâs backgrounds I donât make fun of their habits. Itâs not being woke or treating them like snowflakes, itâs just having empathy.
You make a valid point. I wouldnât feel comfortable with that.
From a stats point of view I like the end of year spend review, not interested in it being âsassyâ though so maybe a normal option can be added back in this year
