Does anyone know what the BIN (1st 6 digits) are for the virtual card used by Apple Pay for the Monzo Flex card?
To obtain the receipt for an inflight meal, Ryanair require both the 1st 6 digits and last 4 digits of the card used (because of course they do). The physical card number didn’t work.
Monzo Chat seems to be either unable or unwilling to provide it. I have seen it come up a few times on card machine receipts in the past.
Open the wallet app on your iPhone, tap on the card and then on the on the bottom right. Then tap on information and you will be able to see the last four digits of your device account number as well as the last four digits of the original card you added to Apple Pay.
I know on Android, I can see the last four digits of Google Wallet paid items by going into the transaction. You probably can’t access the rest of the device account number (aka the virtual card number), but if you say it was an Apple Pay transaction with those last digits on X date at Y time, they should be able to find it.
If they say they are unable to locate the transaction, then “obviously” the transaction you thought was made to them wasn’t and therefore the card was used fraudulently and you’ll raise a dispute with your card provider against whoever is impersonating RyanAir… That might (hopefully) make them double check…
Update:
I’ve just done a quick check with my Monzo Mastercard Debit using Google Pay and got a IIN/BIN [first few digits] of 5347 9418 for the virtual card which is very different from the physical 5355 2208 card details - even the expiration date is different. How did I check this? Two phones - one with “Credit Card Reader” app on and the other open in Google Pay/Wallet.
Just found out the BIN number (and subsequently downloaded my Ryanair receipt) thanks to receiving a merchant copy of a purchase (which shows the full card number). The expiry date is also different to my physical card.
For anyone looking this up for the same reason, the Monzo Flex Apple Pay BIN (1st 6 digits) is 543121
