Monzo card in Ulaanbaatar Outer Mongolia?

Hi, has anyone got experience in using Monzo card in Ulaanbaatar?
Do I need to activate chip function before I travel to Ulaanbaatar?

I would just make sure both chip & PIN, and contactless works in the UK a before you leave. You might need to use the magstripe in Mongolia, which is switched on in the app.
