i vist mac donals today and had my card declind twice dont know why its was contactless touch pad used in there over day i had to use pin.
This normally happens where a contactless purchase is not done online in real-time but processed by the retailer in batches later.

Language was not to clear but thought OP could not use contactless and had to use chip and pin. It maybe some branches have contactless terminals online and others offline

Yep. Location is useful info, maybe for other Monzo cardholders in that area, and will diferentiate this report from other McDonald’s ones where stores may have a different setup
Consider reporting this upwards in McDonald’s chain of command. All terminals should be online and consistent in every corporate and franchised store.
